George T. Bagby State Park and Lodge

330 Bagby Parkway

Located in southwest Georgia on the shores of Lake Walter F. George (also known as Lake Eufaula), this resort park features a 60-room lodge, conference center and cottages. The Pilot House Grill Restaurant provides a courtesy dock for boaters who want to enjoy meals in the park, and the conference center is an affordable setting for weddings, reunions, meetings and retreats.

A marina, boat ramp and beach offer easy access to the 48,000-acre lake for fishing, boating and swimming. Anglers will be excited to learn that the state record blue catfish was captured in Lake Walter F. George in 2010. The large picnic shelter and numerous picnic sites are perfect places for families to enjoy their catch. Visitors may also look for wildlife along the three-mile nature trail, which journeys through hardwoods and pines.

We had a horrible experience at this lodge. The room had a musty odor. There were spider webs with live spiders. The shower had mold and mildew to the point that it was flaking off during a shower. The ceiling was peeling. When we tried to go to the front office it was closed. We felt that we were completely alone on the property. We will never stay there again. Lakepoint Lodge on the Alabama side is far nicer.

We came to the lodge as Hurricane Irma evacuees.from Florida We were scared and tired and let me say the staff was so unwelcoming.First the staff has no customer service, so unfriendly They are lazy. 2nd Housekeeping were complaining about cleaning. I guess they were not used To having that many people stay at the lodge. 3rd this is a family place not for staff to throw a hurricane Party with friends next to families and on top of that with no electricity power for a whole day and night on top of that smoking pot playing loud music and some crazy lady talking loud worst night of my life. This was a staff party . overall the lodge. Lake ,pool ,restruant was beautiful . i hope next time i come back i can enjoy my stay. I hope they get a new professional staff. Loving caring and friendly. I will rate a 1 because of m angement however this place is a diamond in the rough this place will loose its beauty because of the staff. Please consider getting new people
